"I've got the brightest star"
You say, looking at my gift
As it sits in our room.
But not nearly as bright does it shine
as the one it was modeled after...
For that which inspired it is the brightest I've seen,
Having led me out of the deepest darkness
And saving me from the worst fate I coud have suffered.
That star likes to think
That I caught it when it fell,
But little does it know
That in truth, that falling star caught me,
And only in its carress
Have I known true love.
So look on your star, my dear,
For it may be bright
But it will never shine as brightly as you.
