My love,
How long it's been since I have seen your face,
Though more than once have I envisioned your
Sweet features here before my eyes. This place
Grows cold without your presence here to warm...
I miss you oh so horribly, my dear,
And while I never found the words to say
Till now, I simply pray that you will hear
Me while I contemplate the phrases. May
They somehow tell you just how much you meant
To me while you were close. My heart and soul
Do ache as memory replays time spent
In you embrace, for neither now are whole;
You took the pieces with you when you left,
Wounds leaving me to bleed with hope bereft.
Now, as I write, the wounds have not yet healed.
The hurt remains, and yet I feel as though
The strength that your sweet name alone does yield
Would take these broken wings and make them grow
To soar amoung the stars, where mem'ries dwell...
Chilled misery that lingers with you gone
Is warmed by flames which rival heat of Hell
That once burned in your eyes, to which I'm drawn...
Oh yes, I hope these words do reach your heart,
For - dare I say it? - LOVE bids me to pen
This letter sweet, that while we are apart,
Both shall edure until we meet again.
Return to me while I compile this prose,
For I will ever more remain Your Rose.
